Common questions
Before you book
Is the measure and quote really free?
Yes. Chris comes to you, measures every door and window you want done, brings samples so you can see the mesh and fabrics in your own light, and leaves you with a written quote. There's no charge and no obligation to proceed.
How long does it take from quote to installation?
Most jobs run around two to three weeks from accepting the quote to installation, because everything is custom-made to your openings. Larger whole-home packages take longer. Chris confirms the expected date in writing with your quote rather than giving you a vague window.
What does a security door actually cost?
It depends on the opening size, the mesh, the frame colour and the lock — a standard hinged screen door sits well below a Crimsafe sliding unit on a wide alfresco opening. Nobody can give you a real number over the phone without the measurements, which is why the measure is free. You'll have a written price before you commit to anything.
Do I need Crimsafe, or will a standard security screen do?
Honestly, plenty of homes don't need Crimsafe on every opening. Crimsafe's clamped stainless steel mesh earns its price on the doors most exposed to the street or to a break-in attempt. On a rear window behind a locked gate, a standard security screen built to Australian Standards usually does the same job for noticeably less. Chris will tell you where to spend and where you don't need to — that conversation happens at the measure.
Can you do the whole house for a new build?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to do it. One visit measures every door and window, one quote covers screens, blinds, curtains and shutters together, and the whole package gets installed in one go. That's also how you end up with consistent colours and finishes room to room, rather than a mix from three suppliers.
Who actually turns up to install it?
Chris. The person who measures your openings is the person who installs them and the person you call afterwards if anything needs adjusting. That's deliberate — it's why the measurements are right and why the install date holds.
Are the products Australian-made?
Yes. Security doors, screens, blinds, curtains and shutters are all made in Australia to your measurements, which also keeps turnaround times shorter than importing stock sizes.
